Premiering in cinemas at the end of this month, Aladdin is Disney’s 31st animated feature film, and is a live-action remake of the 1992 movie of the same name. The star-studded cast includes British actress Naomi Scott, who takes on the role of Princess Jasmine, and the fictional character is the inspiration behind a new capsule collection by Carmen-backed lifestyle brand Figue.
Launched back in 2012 by Stephanie von Watzdorf, Figue has become known for its one-of-a-kind seasonless designs that celebrate the talents of local artisans. The label’s travel-inspired prints, embroideries and hand-embellishments, as well as its distinctive accessories and jewelry, are produced by craftsmen and women from around the world.
A natural extension of the designer’s personal style and passion for travel, the luxe-boho brand embodies an independent spirit and sense of adventure, qualities shared by the Disney princess, who unlike many of her contemporaries in the past, takes a lead rather than supporting role in the film.
The special edition capsule features 18 pieces, including the paisley print Caliana Dress and this vibrant, silk Jasmine Dress…
Pieces from the collection are available to pre-order here, and here’s a teaser of the forthcoming film…

I was brought up by spiritual parents and we often discussed death as being a natural part of life – needing to make it our mission to continue growing and evolving until our last breath. So, in spite of the sadness of losing Castro, it comforts me to think that he died evolving and at peace.
