Starting the New Year resolving to commit to a fitness regime is a worthy goal, but if your willpower is already starting to wane then perhaps a wellness weekend in the home of boutique fitness will get you back on track.
In partnership with New York-based Tone Escapes, the EDITION hotel in the city’s Flatiron District is offering the opportunity to spend a weekend sampling the classes and culinary experiences that have put the area on the health and fitness map.
During the two-day stay you will be able to take part in classes at some of Manhattan’s most iconic studios, including Barry’s, FlyWheel, SoulCycle, City Row, Y7 Yoga and Rumble; visit juice bars such as Juice Press and Liquitaria; and health oriented restaurants such as Hu Kitchen.
Designed to promote long-term change rather than a quick fix typical of the traditional boot camp, the immersive weekend also includes talks with trainers, business owners and fitness experts, with take-aways such as nutrition tips and recovery methods. “I want to teach people a sustainable lifestyle where you workout moderately and absolutely enjoy a glass or two of wine and reasonable portions of sweets,” said Mantas Zvinas, Tone Escapes’ founder and a certified personal trainer and yoga instructor.
The EDITION’s Fitness Retreat is just one of a growing number of getaways that focus on wellness. Now that we are increasingly willing to consider workout-focused holidays, the trend for destinations offering calorie-restricted diets and hours of extreme exercise is being replaced by those that practice a balanced and much more pleasurable approach.
The Fitness Retreat package is available on the weekend of 2nd to 4th February 2018 at the New York EDITION.
