SS16: Isabel Marant's Chic Global Nomad

Isabel Marant’s globally influenced collections reflect the designer’s childhood travels to Asia, Africa, India and the Caribbean, and this season her unique brand of nomadic French girl chic drew on the rich culture of Rajasthan.

Held open air in the Jardin du Palais-Royal, Marant’s spring/summer show mixed minimalist sportswear with exotic embellishment, colorful textiles offset against the ease of the designer’s now familiar casual cool.

Embroidered jackets worn atop black, cuffed-hem pants, and fringed scarves, styled as skirts and paired with pretty peasant tops, were among the key looks of the collection, which also included metallics, tribal prints and feather-light sweaters.

arant is a master of mixing opposing aesthetics, within her brand of bohemian luxury, and this latest outing adds another new twist for her label’s travel-minded tribe to enjoy.
