Carmen has joined fellow Venezuelans in YO SOY VENEZUELA (I am Venezuela), an independent project organized by journalists and creatives in Caracas, London and New York (@ysv_oficial) to create awareness about the crisis in Venezuela. Launched today July 3rd worldwide, the campaign calls attention to the current sociopolitical situation in Venezuela, while also promoting respect for human rights and the safeguarding of fundamental values.
Carmen was joined by musician Devendra Banhart, designer Carolina Herrera, artist Arturo Herrera, doctor and scientist José Esparza, poet Rafael Cadenas, pianist Gabriela Montero, singer-songwriter Ricardo Montaner, baseball player Omar Vizquel, TV presenter Jason Silva, chef María Fernanda Di Giacobbe, football player Tomás Rincón, design curator and mentor Marva Griffin, film director Lorenzo Vigas, singer Soledad Bravo, and a few other well-known Venezuelans who all delivered a joint statement through an outstanding video filmed between Tokyo, London, New York, Los Angeles, Houston, Washington, Miami, Turin, Berlin, Barcelona, Milan, Mexico City and Caracas.
