Byronesque reimagined the contemporary vintage market in 2013, before ‘resale’ became the multi billion industry it is today.

Relaunching in SS 2023 as the online boutique department store with official brand concession spaces for contemporary-vintage fashion, future vintage and brand reissues, Byronesque is now turning its experienced esoteric take on fashion history and deep understanding of luxury brands to reinvent the market again. 

The Byronesque concession model enables brands to leverage its unique luxury positioning, to control their own product and image in the secondary market and to gain valuable design insight and data from Byronesque's sales and personal sourcing services. 

The new dedicated brand concession spaces, that put traditional analogue concessions online, are exclusive to Byronesque, launching first with The Vivienne Foundation and a unique Future Vintage concession space for Gucci. Every contemporary vintage piece available in brand concession spaces is chosen and cataloged by Byronesque and authenticated by each respective brand partner with an official phygital Certificate of Appraisal – a criteria and process that is unique to Byronesque. Certificates are held as NFTs on the Byronesque blockchain. 

ABOUT THE FOUNDERS

Gill and Justin are both Londoners living between Paris and NYC abroad whose key decade was the ‘90s.
Gill has worked with fashion brands for decades as a creative and brand / collections strategist.
Justin as a photographer who started out in the early days of Dazed and Another and the photographer to the YBA’s.
They have won awards and ruffled feathers.
Their collective experience and dissatisfaction is why Byronesque isn’t just another resale site.

Their manifesto is clear.

WE TELL STORIES AND SELL CLOTHES FOR PEOPLE WHO DON’T WANT TO BE FIGURED OUT.

WE START AT PUNK, WITH THE IRREVERENCE TO RE-ISSUE THE OVERLOOKED AND LONGED FOR.

WE BELIEVE THAT JUST BECAUSE IT’S OLD DOESN’T MEAN IT’S GOOD AND OUR EDIT IS RUTHLESS.

WE THOUGHT THE FUTURE WOULD BE COOLER. BUT WE ARE AGAINST OUTDATED NOSTALGIA.

OUR CONNECTION TO THE PAST IS OBSCURE. OUR PRESENT MORE POLARIZING AND MORE LASTING THAN THE LANDFILLS OF RESOLD IMITATIONS.
