Platform launched in 2021 with the strategic partnership of world-renowned gallery David Zwirner.
It is an artist-driven brand that sells new one-of-a-kind artworks, limited editions, and exclusive artist collaborations. By partnering with today’s most influential artists and galleries Platform is able to offer regular releases of new artworks that are worth collecting.
ABOUT THE FOUNDERS
Bettina Huang – Co-founder and Executive Chairman
Bettina was previously the CEO, leading the company’s strategy, operations and technology. She brings over a decade of entrepreneurial and start-up experience at the intersection of technology, e-commerce, and culture. A previous start-up founder herself, Bettina has held leadership roles at e-commerce leaders such as Fab.com and Quidsi, the subsidiary of Amazon. With a long-held passion for art, including early professional experience at Christie’s, Bettina has integrated that passion with her expertise in innovative ecommerce and technology to build Platform into an industry disruptor, connecting contemporary art and artists to a broad audience of increasingly digital-first consumers. She received her B.A. from Brown University with a major in the History of Art and her M.B.A. from New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business with a specialization in Entrepreneurship & Innovation and Finance.
Marlene Zwirner – Co-founder, board member and Creative Director
Marlene has led the development of strong and impactful gallery and artist relationships for Platform, building a network that includes leading emerging and mid-sized galleries across the world. In her role at David Zwirner gallery, she works closely with several of the gallery’s artists and Estates to produce exhibitions, publications, and related programming, including online exhibitions and sales. She received her B.A. from Columbia University with a double major in Art History and Visual Art.
Lucas Zwirner – Co-founder
Lucas oversees all digital and editorial projects at David Zwirner gallery, including the gallery's online platforms and its publishing house. He has spearheaded initiatives that deepen conversations around art through online presentations and sales, podcasts, video, web content, public programming, strategic partnerships, and books. He led some of the gallery’s most successful online initiatives, such as the pilot of Platform in 2020, which hosted 48 galleries from four cities on David Zwirner Online, and the Artists for Biden sale in fall 2020. He graduated summa cum laude from Yale with a B.A. in philosophy and literature.
